Could Jemaine Dupri’s time at Island Def Jam be officially over? According to my source who works for the company….it’s a wrap. We got hit on the hip earlier today that Jermain was officially fired from Island/Def JamAfter several failed projects, which includes Janet Jackson’s Discipline, Mariah Carey’s E=MC2 and Johnta Austin’s permanently shelved project it looks like the powers that be have had enough and JD’s time as head of Island Records’ urban division has come to an end.

I am being told that JD’s termination papers were being drafted this afternoon.

Also sources reported that he lost his restaurant. To lose your restaurant and then your job in such a public matter is never a good thing. When it rains it pours I guess Greg Street hit the nail on the head. Jermaine Dupree said the DJ’s were dead. It looks like Jermaine is finished in Hip Hop. He never was relevant in urban music, to hear him tell it he was a force but turning his back on DJ’s isnt a good thing. Jermaine Dupree has always been trash.
