Rapper Yung Berg was arrested earlier this morning in New York City on weapons and marijuana charges. All the details are not in yet.
Berg was scheduled to perform at Six Flags in New Jersey yesterday as part of his promotional tour for his album, ‘Look What You Made me Do,’ which will be released this Tuesday, August 12, 2008. The album includes an all-star cast of guest appearances from Ray J, Lloyd, Trey Songz, Amerie, Eve, Collie Buddz, Twista, Jim Jones, and his own artist Casha.
Yung Berg, aka Christian Ward, shot to fame with his single ‘Sexy Lady,’ featuring R&B singer Junior. Berg has been involved in the music business since the age of 15 when DMX was so impressed with the teenager that he signed him to his record label, Bloodline Records, he then went by the moniker Ice Berg. Berg was first featured on the Exit Wounds soundtrack. Most recently he was featured on Ray J’s hit, ‘Sexy Can I.’
The 22 year-old Chicago born rapper is not just a rapper, as head of his own label, Yung Boss Music Group, he produces and writes as well. In a recent interview he said, “I’ve started my own movement, I’m just focused on branding my own empire instead of focusing on what someone did before me.” “I don’t know nobody that’s signed to their own label,” he said. “Twenty-two years old and producing their own records with their tight buddies and [has] millions of downloads.”
Yung Berg’s album ‘Look What You Made Me Do” will be in stores August 12th.
