Days before Corey “C-Murder” Miller was scheduled to face a jury for a second time, a judge approved a request by the attorneys to delay the trial because of ongoing wrangling over witnesses’ backgrounds.Jury selection was set to begin Monday. But after a private meeting between the attorneys in 24th Judicial District Judge Martha Sassone’s offices, Assistant District Attorney David Wolff announced in court the trial is set for Oct. 14.Miller, 37, is charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 12, 2002, death of Steve Thomas, 16, a fan who was shot during a fight inside the now-closed Platinum Club in Harvey.
