hip hop spy Flavor FlavPublic Enemy’s hype man Flavor Flav sent the last hood rat back to the hood, thing 1 or 2 I can’t remember her name , you know the one that looked like leon spinks. It went down at the reunion for the latest season of “Flavor of Love” the Floavor Flav decided to announce he’s retiring from helping chickenheads find fame for loving him. Instead opting to put a ring on the finger of baby’s mama # 7 - Liz, who mothered his infant son Karma. Flav never intended on staying with any of the skanks from any of his shows, they all thought they would find fame and fortune but nobody can remember any of there names anymore, they were all just a bunch of low budget hood rats. Meanwhile, one of his most popular love interests, Shay “Buckeey” Johnson has popped up all over the net allegedly tasting the flavor of somebody else’s Johnson in a homemade porno. You will have to google it, Hiphopspy dont do porno we only report the Hip hop news.

Jermaine Dupre Hip Hop Spy

JD said it was time to thank fans for pointing out how so many major labels fail to properly use the Internet.”I heard y’all say how much more aggressive record companies should be in making full use of all that the Internet has to offer,” says Dupri. “Our own web sites should be leading the way in the digital space. But they’re not. It’s all one media, and these days the digital space is way more powerful than outlets like print and television.”Dupri’s post wasn’t so much a revelation as it was a promotional opportunity for his new artist, Dondria Nicole. Dupri found Nicole on YouTube, under the alias of “Phatfffat.” A page featuring Nicole singing R&B covers received over 1 million views. Now JD hopes to capitalize on her already established fan base by releasing a full-length album on July 29.”The whole thing hit me the way it did when I discovered Bow Wow and Da Brat,” JD gushed. “They each had something so different and so compelling that I knew with these artists I could create my own lane and make history in the music business. I have the same feeling with Phatfffat.”While critics have been more than willing to point out the lack of longevity for some of Dupri’s previous artists, the numbers don’t lie. Bow Wow, Xscape, Da Brat and Kris Kross have sold a combined total of over 12 million albums in the US alone under Dupri’s So So Def imprint. We at Hiphopspy think JD is grasping at straws, if he wants to know who the stars are of the internet he needs to look at the mixtape tracklists and see who dominates playlist after playlist. Doesn’t he know youtube views can be manipulated with programs , just like the fake myspace plays and listens so many fake artists use these days. JD is a idiot.

trick daddy hip hop spyIt’s been a turbulent year for Trick Daddy, one in which saw the Miami rapper depart from his long-time home, Slip-N-Slide Records. Last fall after nearly a decade of being the flagship artist of Slip-N-Slide records, rumors began to circulate over Trick’s discontent with the label. According to Slip-N-Slide CEO, Ted Lucas, the root of the rapper’s displeasure stemmed from several disputes with how parent label, Atlantic Records, handled his last project, Back By Thug Demand. The album’s lack of sales resulted in Trick’s departure.Trick said Now, there’s no one to blame. No one holding me back and nobody trying to come up off me.Trick is now a grown man. Trick has moved on in life. I sleep better, I think clearer and I’m still going to give you the hits.”Today, Trick is finally at peace. Recently, launching his own imprint Dunk Ryder Records, the Miami bad boy has aligned with Cash Money Record’s Bryan”Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams in a joint venture deal to release his group, The Dunk Ryders. Comprised of Iceberg Billion, Lil Fella and Soup - Trick’s younger brother, who is currently incarcerated- the deal with Cash Money is one step in Trick controlling his own destiny.”I’m signed to my own independent label now, [and] I plan to release my next album independently so I can own something,” Trick explained. “I don’t own none of the masters and I did seven albums. It’s [was] like you already got rich off me, at least can I get my masters? Now, I’ll be able to own all that and control my own destiny!”With his future solidified, the “Mayor of Dade County” continues to give back to the community through his Trick Luvs Da Kids Foundation. As of press time no date has been scheduled for The Dunk Ryders’ upcoming CD. We at Hiphopspy have great reserves about cashmoney helping anyone out but Lil Wayne. Allstar has been signed to Cashmoney for years, do you know who Allstar is, of course not,if you dont live in nashville then you probaly dont know who he is. Cashville records has had him on the shelf forever. We think the same thing will probaly happen to Trick Daddy and his new group. Every time someone brings up Trick Daddys name I remember seeing him get beat down in detroit by Trick Trick, and snatched off stage and stomped out.

slick rick hip hop spySlick Rick, a 43-year-old hip-hop pioneer known for the rap classic “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick” and was convicted of attempted murder in 1991, has received a full pardon from Gov. David A. Paterson. The governor said in a statement that he decided to pardon Mr. Walters, who was released from prison in 1997, to prevent him from being deported to Britain, where Mr. Walters was born and lived until the age of 11.In 2002, The Times chronicled the efforts to deport Mr. Walters and the efforts of his supporters to prevent that from happening. Mr. Walters is currently living in the Bronx and has not been in trouble with the law since his release from prison. We at Hiphopspy think the governor should be commended for pardoning Slick Rick to keep him from being deported.

Saigon hip hop spy

It seemed to be the album that would never see the light of day. Saigon and Atlantic Records have been caught up in a never ending soap opera that found Saigon going as far as saying “I Quit!” in an attempt to force Atlantic’s hand to do something.
Finally, something has been done and Saigon is no longer a part of Atlantic.”I am NO LONGER ON ATLANTIC RECORDS, thank you God,” Sai says via his Myspace blog. “I took legal action and got my manager Chris, my lawyer Theo, my homies Gee Roberson and Just Blaze and we got the fuck up out of there… No, I didn’t get dropped so you haters don’t get excited, I fought these people very very hard to leave.”

In his blog, Saigon cites what he calls “the three strikes” that got him to this point.”Atlantic Records felt I needed a party song, or a sexual song or something like the other artist they have up there,” he says of “Pain In My Life” not getting pushed hard as his single. “On one side of the token they’re telling me they need to market me to the youth yet they want me to use adult content.. This didn’t make sense to me. They wanted me to tell 12 and 13 year old kids that its cool to be strippers and gangbangers.” He also blames Atlantic for burying the buzz worthy “Come On Baby” and not giving him the proper funding for a video for either song. The final strike, however, was when Just Blaze nailed down Jay-Z for the “Come On Baby” remix and Atlantic dropped the ball again. Saigon says that this is what forced him to take legal action to leave the label.
Just Blaze also chimed in on the situation from his blog.
“We have been quietly working to get released from Atlantic. Sometimes you need to do things without talking about them. And get what you want. We finally got that…With 100% ownership of the masters,” Blaze states. He also makes mention that leaving the label and owning all the masters is a rarity. “Thank you Atlantic for recognizing the situation for what it really was and doing the right thing,” he continues. “There are already new situation(s) in the works.” We at Hiphopspy once again say what the hell do these rappers think when they sign the slave deal contracts that they are going to get it there way, do they think there is a pot of gold at the labels? Nothing is going to ever change it only gets worse until all the labels fold. Saigon needs to stay independent if he signs to another label then he truly is a dumbass.

LL Cool J Hip Hop Spy

With over 20 years in the Hip Hop game, LL Cool J has managed to remain successful without the aid of mixtapes - something that many artists use to build a buzz for their upcoming albums.

According to MTV, that’s all going to change, as LL is readying his first-ever mixtape, The Return of the G.O.A.T. Hosted by DJ Kay Slay, the mixtape will feature guests such as Busta Rhymes. “Anybody that’s featured on the mixtape has to be on a classic LL beat,” Kay Slay said.

“LL’s got an album coming out,” he continued. “I think he’s just aware that he has to have that street presence and make people aware he still is the G.O.A.T. and he can still spit. A lot of people are under the misconception that LL is making those grown-and-sexy records, that he ain’t with the street vibe anymore. I think he wanted to step back and let people know he’s still the G.O.A.T.”

The Return of the G.O.A.T. is due in the upcoming weeks. We at Hip hop spy think he could of picked a better mixtape DJ then kay slay to put it together. Kay Slay isnt even in the mixtape game anymore except when he does a papoose mixtape,
But we at Hiphopspy support LL as he used to spit flames back in the day and he probaly still can hold it down with anyone out today.

This little situation has been going on for a couple months now. But it seems without a doubt that Shawty Lo proved his point. T.I was always screaming bankhead on his mixtapes, tracks, and in concert. But it seems Mr. T.I isnt even from bankhead he is from the suburbs on the southside of Atlanta. A high school yearbook picture was sent in to Shawty Lo proving where he was from, in the picture it looks like he has some sort of fucked up jerri curl twist type of braid thing going on. Now you say does it matter? What does it mean? Well being from the hood myself I will tell you what it means. T.I was not proud of where he was from and he tried to make himself look hard, we all know being hard and scratching your way out of the projects is every artists dream. Well Mr. T.I grew up in the cosby show type of atmosphere and wanted to be from the hood for the sake of his rap career. He has been a very successful artist, but for the record claim your own hood, dont scream bankhead if you scared to even come to the hood. Maybe thats why he bought all those weapons? Maybe Mr. Suburbs is a little scared when he leaves his gated community? Maybe it would be wise for T.I to stay quiet on this one. Remember way back when Vanilla Ice said he was from the hood and got exposed? His career was over. Your move T.I.
