Once Khia was kicked off of VH1´s “Miss Rap Supreme” she had a lot to say. She blogged, she mad YouTube clips and she did various interviews. Khia made many negative and untrue statements about MC Serch so he went on the record for what he said would be his first and last time to address her.He started out by thanking her for the publicity because it only helps him and the show. Serch said he admired the fact that she sold 800,000 records and then he set her straight.”In terms of my records sold, you have stated that I have not sold “Nann” the records you have sold. I think you might have been drinking a little too much of your own Kool Aid on that one. Third Bass had three albums “The Cactus Album”, “Derelicts Of Dialect” and a remix album called “Cactus Revisited”. My remix album sold 850,000 albums by itself. “Cactus” sold 1.3 million and sells 50,000 records a year for the past fifteen years. “Derelicts Of Dialect” which had our Number 3 pop hit “Pop Goes The Weasel” sold 1.4 million records, 565,000 in the first 28 days.”In his career, Serch is responsible for over 3.5 million in record sales and Khia has 800,000 sold.He ends his blog with a nice summary on his career and her week long stint on the show. “You see my name in this business has been going on for 20 years. I have been involved in this culture not for the fame or the money, but for the love and that is why I do this show. You did this show for the fame and the money and walked away with neither. My father always said if you chase money it runs away, always let money chase you. Well Khia, you need to stop the chase because it is obvious that 100,000 is long gone from your future. Check please.Khia, I want to tell you how much I enjoyed you being on the show for a week. You have given us all something to learn and discuss. We have watched you beef with girls ten years younger then you, we have watched you lie and cheat and we have watched you get kicked to the curb and told to step off. I leave you with your own words to chew on, Khia, “Toodles.”
The Annual Mixtape Awards was established in 1995 by Orpheous “Justo” Fasion, to help cultivate the under-standing, appreciation and advancement of the Disc Jockey - from the street, club and radio DJ to the platinum selling Artist signed to major record labels. The Mixtape Awards is designed to honor DJs and Artist who constantly raise the bar within the music industry. The 11th annual awards take place tonight in NYC. Well the mixtape awards used to be respected by all of the Hip Hop world when Justo was alive, now it is just a joke. Whoever took the reins when Justo passed has reduced the awards to a low budget swap meet. Last years awards were cut short by fighting and overall they were trash. Rapmullet awarded them the mixtape murder of the year, everyone I talked to that went said the awards must of been run by some crack head. This year half the DJ’s on the ballot should not be on the ballot, most of the top mixtape DJ’s were not on the ballot. The artist’s must of been rigged, because multiple artists that should of been on the ballot are not, Some artists that are on the ballot are there because they voted for themselves 2 million times. Then there is the thousands of emails we have received from the DJ’s and artists begging someone to vote for them. What the fuck? How tacky is that, you are begging people to go vote for you for a award that is basically rigged and for a award that means nothing.Hahahaha everytime I receive one of these emails I have to shake my head. I wont name names, but they all say the same thing. What a joke. We appreciate what Justo did for the mixtape DJ’s and Artists, but when he passed away, the whole mixtapeawards has went down the tube from nominating to voting to the show, it has all turned into a big pile of shit. I bet Justo is turning over in his grave, when he see’s how low budget the show has become. We at Hiphopspy dont even want to know who wins what, dont tell us and myspace us to death about it. Take your little trophy and place it on your shelf and then sit by your phone and wait for it to ring with some label on the the other line wanting to give you a million dollars. We think you might be waiting a very long time.
I hate to give this artist any more free press, but I will because I cannot help writing about the worst artist to have a #1 hit in the history of Hip hop. He’s churned out a breakout hit in “Crank Dat,” his debut album is certified gold, and he’s smack in the middle of the LeBron James/Deshawn Stevenson feud. Life as a supposed one-hit wonder is pretty good for Soulja Boy. But instead of relaxing, the teen rapper is getting busy preparing his sophomore album, Back to School. “Basically, it is really me taking it back to the basics”. “It’s time to start studying again. Make it happen, man. [By the] the time I drop the album, everybody is gonna be going back to school. My fans are 21 and under. He says his fans, stop lets think about that, exactly who are his fans and if they there is a legitimate fan out there, what race are they and why would anyone be a fan? He’s also focusing on his business acumen. He’s going to crank out a line of shades based on the ones he wears in his videos and on stage. SB is also going into the sneaker biz with a line of kicks called Yums; there’s also plans for a cartoon about him and his friends called Bad Little Homies.” No date has been set yet for Soulja Boy’s next album. But we at Hiphopspy are hoping he never comes out with another CD, we cant stomach much more garbage being dropped on us by these trash artists as it just gives hip hop a black eye.
G-Unit soldier Tony Yayo will be making his acting debut as the legendary KRS-One in the much blogged about movie The Vapors and it may be the beginning of a flourishing independent career. “I want to make my own moves,” he told Hiphopspy “I’m looking towards movies right now. I’m working with people you wouldn’t even believe.”
Janet Jackson has a crush on Alicia Keys. The pop superstar has been dogged by rumors she’s gay and bisexual for years and she admits she no longer cares. But, if she had to choose a female mate, she’d pick “No One” hitmaker Keys. She says, “I would pick Alicia Keys, for sure. I think she’s wonderful.”And, if she could pick out her next life, Jackson insists she’d come back as a man - and date a sex-changed Jermaine Dupri, her current partner. It makes you wonder if Jermaine is getting the strap on by Janet behind closed doors now. Janet said “In my next life I’m going to come back as a guy and he’s going to be my bitch.” She said Jermaine is going to be her bitch. Jackson is thrilled about her upcoming GLAAD Vanguard Award honour - because she’s convinced it comes at a time when gay acceptance is better than ever. The pop superstar will be honoured for her work as a gay rights advocate at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s 19th Annual Media Awards in Hollywood on Saturday.
I was going thru my usual ritual of looking for some news worthy enough to post on this great site. All I came across was a bunch of shit I dont care about and neither should you,but I will post some of it without the bullshit details. Stimuli releasing his 12th mixtape this year, Ha who the fuck is he? A nobody. The Game and G units albums pushed back till july , who gives a crap? I will jack them in July instead of June, then sell them out the trunk to the suckers and peasants who cant afford a computer to jack there own shit. T.I to release new single next week, who gives a rats ass? There is so much music being released why is that news? The dirty ass cops who killed Sean Bell in NYC are found not guilty. Does that surprise anyone? The police kill who they want when they want and nothing is going to happen except that fool Al Sharpton making another ignorant speech. That news had nothing to do with Hip Hop but it is all over the net. Hiphopspy hates the police always have and always will. More on the no news today, Nas album pushed back even further. Again who gives a fuck? Two faggots to headline the Hot 97 summer jam this year, Lil wayne and Kanye west. The rest of the line up is filled with nobodies like Yung berg and others I cant remember there names. Amy Winehouse the crazy bitch from england headbutted some man in london yesterday and got charged with assault. That is all I could find not worth writing on today, there was no news today.hip hop news
The man suspected of murdering Jam Master Jay was slammed with 17 years in prison, but it wasn’t for killing the legendary DJ.According to New York’s Daily News, Ronald “Tinard” Washington was sentenced in an unrelated robbery charge yesterday (April 23). Prosecutors asked Brooklyn Federal Judge Nina Gershon to consider Jay’s unsolved murder in the sentencing but she refused.Prosecutors contend that Washington and an unnamed associate entered Jam Master Jay’s studio on October 30, 2002 and Washington “pointed his gun at those present in the studio, ordered them on the ground and provided cover for his associate to shoot and kill Jay,” according to a letter the lawyers provided to the judge.Washington was convicted on April 5 of six armed robberies for holdups he committed in November 2002, just weeks after Jam Master Jay’s murder. He denied any involvement in the killing. He’s also suspected as the shooter of Tupac associate Randy “Stretch” Walker, who was attacked a year to the day after the Pac was attacked at Quad Studios.DJ Jam Master Jay was a member of Run-DMC, the first rap group to attract a worldwide audience. He made history alongside group members Joe “Run” Simmons and Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels as the trio’s 1984 debut album featuring the hit singles “It’s like That” and “Sucker MCs,” became the first rap album to attain gold status.
